Wicked musical description
Scriptwriters reinterpreted the original plot, making the Sorceress neighbors in their educational institution. For recognition of the plot and characters, in the foundation were laid some musical themes of the same-named movie of 1939. Preparatory work for the show began in the early 2000s. J. Mantello joined the team as co-director; choreographer was W. L. Cilento, a winner of many Tony Awards. E. Lee managed to make a beautiful design, positively characterized by all the critics, without exception.
From the opening night in 2004, Broadway production collected more than half a million dollars every week, making it pretty nice grossing thing. The theatrical had received three Tonies (out of ten), 6 Drama Desks and many other awards. Nice revenues were demonstrated by British, Australian, German and Japanese shows, along with performances in Copenhagen, Helsinki and Amsterdam.
