Heathers musical description

In the musical, role of Veronica Sawyer is played by young actress Barrett Wilbert Weed. She has a deep & soulful voice & the talent of the young actress does not allow to doubt that she is ideally suited for this role. Jason Dean’s part performs Ryan McCartan. He has been seen on television before, participating in the filming of TV series, but the role in the musical was his first time. His voice perfectly conveys the mood of the mad hero. Laurence O'Keefe & Kevin Murphy managed to create on stage a terrific story, inspired by the once cult film & recalling it to the public. The musical did not go on Broadway, but the off-Broadway productions have earned good reviews.

The performances took place in the New World Stages from March 2014 as preliminary ones, with the official opening the same month. It was decided to record the music album. It was made in April 2014, the digital release in stores was appointed on July & was released even a week earlier. Last performance of troupe was played in August 2014 on the stage of the same theater. Heathers went also to San Francisco, Midwest, Philadelphia & Texas.

The musical went on stage of Hayes Theatre Company in Sydney, Australia. The play was nominated with 2 Drama Desk Awards & 3 Lucille Lortels in 2014, but did not win any.
